Alternative Facts Launches Tomorrow in Brooklyn
The book tour continues to Philadelphia and Boston later this week. Plus, some recent press!
Hi all,
The big day is almost here! Tomorrow, I will launch Alternative Facts at WORD in Greenpoint, Brooklyn @ 7 pm. When I lived in Brooklyn, my writers group met in the basement of WORD, and I gave my first fiction readings there so it’s a really special place to me. I’ll be in conversation with my friend, Nathaniel Kressen, founder of the Greenpoint Writers Group and author of the novels Concrete Fever and Dahlia Cassandra. There will also be book cake and custom bookmarks!
WORD was kind enough to name Alternative Facts to their 2025 Most Anticipated Books list! I also had a blast talking to Greenpointers about my book and all things Brooklyn in anticipation of the launch.
The Tour Continues along the East Coast
On Wednesday, Jan. 30th, the tour continues to Philadelphia, where I’ll give a reading at Booked @ 6 pm. I’ll also be giving a reading at Belmont Books in Boston on Saturday, Feb. 1 @ 7 pm, where I’ll be in conversation with Lesley Bannatyne, author of Unaccustomed to Grace, who awarded Alternative Facts Runner-Up for the Acacia Fiction Prize.
Recent Press in The Rumpus, Chapter 16, and more!
Alternative Facts has also been getting some great press recently! I especially enjoyed getting to talk to my friend Christopher Santantasio at The Rumpus for my most in-depth interview to date! An acclaimed short story writer, Chris has been involved with these stories since grad school and asked such thoughtful, insightful questions that made me feel so seen as a writer. I wish every writer could be so deeply, carefully, and generously read. You can check out Chris’s stories on his website.
Alternative Facts also received a rave review in Chapter 16! Sara Beth West called the collection “equal parts brilliant and bonkers” :
“Emily Greenberg’s prose is electric, and everything around it seems to spark as a result. I cannot lie: Alternative Facts is a tremendously good book, and Emily Greenberg is a writer to watch.”
